Social Worker Inpatient - PRN

About the role

The Inpatient Social Worker supports Inpatient Social Work needs for patients and families at Circle of Life, a hospice provider in Northwest Arkansas.

Responsibilities

• Develops and oversees a plan of care for assigned patients'/families' psychosocial, financial, and emotional needs.
• Coverage for inpatient and/or outpatient Hospice program as needed.
• Liaises with community resources to provide support for patients and families.
• Maintains flexibility with schedule to accommodate patient and organization needs.
• Aids in mentoring of interns and other students.
• Facilitates bereavement programs as needed.

Requirements

• Current Arkansas Social Work license without restriction.
• Emotionally mature, objective, sensitive to people and their problems, capable of handling responsibility, and able to maintain good working relationships.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.
• Excellent computer, phone, reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to organize information, time, and workload efficiently.
• Flexibility to work outside normal office hours, including call coverage, and to handle emergencies.
• Satisfactory results of a current TB skin test, annual TB fit test, and annual flu vaccine.
• Knowledge of dynamics of death and dying, bereavement, and end-of-life issues.
• Experience in a hospice or healthcare environment preferred.
