The Social Worker provides coverage to the 18-bed Inpatient Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit, serving youth ages 5-17 who require short-term, acute inpatient treatment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive psycho-social assessment, intervention, management, and support
- Assess for discharge planning and aftercare needs of the at-risk patient population and their families
- Address social determinants of health
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
- Perform other assigned duties and tasks based upon operational needs
Qualifications
- M.S.W. from a Social Work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)
- M.S.W., L.M.S.W., L.C.S.W. or eligible
- 3 years relevant post-master's experience, preferably in a hospital and/or healthcare environment
- New M.S.W. graduates who are L.M.S.W. eligible will be considered for appointment to entry-level (SL2) positions at a commensurate salary after obtaining a Limited Permit
- Incumbent must obtain L.M.S.W. within 12 months of receipt of the limited permit
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous knowledge and experience with the psychiatric population
- Experience with suicide interventions
- Knowledge of OMH regulations
Schedule
Monday-Friday, days, with occasional on-call/holiday coverage on rotation, based on operational needs.
