Social Worker I MSW
About the role
The MUSC Health inpatient Social Worker assesses psychosocial needs and applies interventions to support the patient’s medical treatment plan. The social worker enhances patient and family/caregiver functioning and emotional well-being, and accesses appropriate and agreed-upon services.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates and coordinates care to enhance the patient experience and achieve collaborative goals.
- Collaboratively develops patient goals, monitors progress, addresses barriers to goal achievement, and evaluates outcomes of individualized care plans.
- Provides training, guidance, and mentors staff and physicians on the management of complex psychosocial patient issues, in line with MUSC Health Hospital’s academic mission.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a social work or social welfare program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
- BSW licensure by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners.
- Certification in case management preferred.
