About the role
The Licensed Social Worker at Reno-Sparks Indian Colony plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive human service programs to designated individuals and families. This position involves case management, ensuring clients receive tailored referrals, counseling, and personalized service plans that adhere to Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) human service policies and procedures. By assessing client needs and coordinating resources, you will empower individuals and families to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Responsibilities
- Case Management: Ensure clients receive tailored referrals, counseling, and personalized service plans.
- Assessment and Service Plan Development: Identify and administer a service plan for each client based on intake assessment.
- Client Services: Provide individual and/or family services including referral to mental health, educational, financial, employment, or counseling programs.
- Cohesive Collaboration: Coordinate foster care, adoption, or adult custodial services based on evaluation and assessment guidelines.
- Treatment Coordination: Collaborate with RSIC services to align treatment plans for “at-risk” children, families, and victims of crime.
- Interagency Coordination: Work jointly with tribal, local, state, and federal agencies, including the Family Support Team, C.P.T., and M.D.T. entities.
- Technical Assistance: Seek technical assistance from B.I.A. as needed.
- Record Keeping: Develop and maintain accurate and confidential client files, records, and documents in accordance with BIA file management systems.
- Reporting: Review certification of assistance payments administered by federal and tribal programs, and provide monthly and/or quarterly reports as required.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field.
- Experience: At least two (2) years of professional experience as a social worker, counselor, or treatment specialist.
- Licensure: Nevada State license as Social Worker may substitute for prior professional experience.
- Other: Eligibility for participation in the RSIC Vehicle Insurance Program, age 21 or older at the time of hire, office skills including email, Microsoft Word, Excel, fax machine, and telephone, and ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form.

- Minimum Competence and Training: Ensures minimum competence and training, licensure verifies accredited education, supervised experience, and passing of a standardized exam.
- Legal Compliance: Meets legal and funding requirements, including adherence to ethical standards and compliance with legal requirements.

- Interviewing Skills: Proficiency in interviewing prospective clients to determine eligibility and participation guidelines.
- Communication: Excellent communication, both written and oral, to enhance interactions with clients and stakeholders.

$76,440.00 - $115,622.36 per year
