Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling to students facing social and emotional challenges
- Act as the primary liaison between the school and external service providers for student support
- Manage crises and behavioral health emergencies to ensure student safety
- Lead child abuse reporting and communication with the Department of Human Services
- Conduct home visits to assess and support family needs
- Connect students in challenging circumstances with appropriate community resources
- Oversight of student assistance programs and implementation of school-wide intervention strategies
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health and trauma-informed care
- Familiarity with child welfare reporting and community resources
- Proven ability to build relationships within a diverse school community
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Skilled in tracking and analyzing student intervention data
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced school environment
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, especially for New Jersey locations
