Social Work Practicum Liaison
About the role
The Practicum Liaisons at UCCS supervise students who do not have a social worker at their placement. This role is crucial for maintaining accreditation standards and supporting students in their field placements.
Responsibilities
- Participate in Orientation for field instructors and students entering the field.
- Maintain oversight of students through job descriptions, learning plans, and assignment completions.
- Foster positive relationships between UCCS and field sites.
- Attend staffing meetings and updates about students placed in field.
- Support field instructors and coordinate with students and field instructors to conduct field visits.
- Document field visits and submit summaries to appropriate Field Directors.
- Work with Field Directors to create corrective action plans for students.
- Evaluate student performance at field practicum to assist Field Instructors in determining final grades.
- Ensure students are entering their time and are up-to-date on hours.
- Inform Field Directors of any hour shortages.
- Submit field evaluations with signatures at the end of the semester.
Requirements
This role requires a Master's in Social Work and post-MSW practice experience. Candidates must also have a valid work authorization or an employment-based visa.
