Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid or eligible for a Georgia Teacher’s Certificate in Middle Grades Social Studies (4–8)
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate appropriate verbal and written communication skills
- Perform routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision
- Participate in extracurricular activities and/or serve on designated committees
- Demonstrate loyalty to the school, school system, and administrators
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
Student Achievement Goals
- Utilize state and system-wide test results and local school grade profiles to develop and improve the instructional program for all assigned students
- Develop and implement appropriate instructional activities to increase student achievement
Instruction
- Provide instruction at an appropriate level with content development and building for transfer
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources tailored to assigned students
- Assess and encourage student progress by promoting engagement, monitoring performance, responding to adequate and inadequate performances, and supporting students appropriately
- Manage the learning environment by using time efficiently, maintaining an effective physical setting, and ensuring appropriate student behavior
- Provide adequate information, plans, and materials for substitutes

- Participate in professional organizations and staff development activities
- Share information with colleagues and apply learned knowledge to the classroom

Pay
Georgia/Local Certified Salary Schedule – 10 month
