About the role

The Behavioral Health/Medical Social Worker will collaborate with psychiatrists, medical doctors, RNs, and other staff to identify, evaluate, treat, and coordinate services for patients with mental health, social, and other needs. This is a fast-paced environment, requiring teamwork, compassion, effective problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal skills to meet the needs of our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical doctors, RNs, and other staff to identify, evaluate, treat, and coordinate services for patients with mental health, social, and other needs.
  • Provide social work services as scheduled in either the Behavioral Health Unit or Medical Units (ER, Med/Surg, ICU, FMC) at Madison Memorial Hospital.
  • Address multiple tasks that have short timelines.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of Social Work experience, preferred in the medical model.
  • Candidate must have a master’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work by the Council on Social Work Education.
  • Must be a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the State of Idaho.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills, as well as solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated with a positive attitude and the flexibility and prioritization abilities to handle crisis situations and work tasks in a rapidly changing environment.

Pay

Hourly pay (not billable), shift differential, and some hospital benefits.

Schedule

Shifts may be a combination of 7:30am-6:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm including weekend shifts and as needed for departmental coverage.
