Social Services Case Coordinator

About the Role

Under general supervision, workers provide advanced level support to child protective services to assist them in the performance of their duties. The role involves reviewing records including medical treatment, educational, and service provider documentation. Workers attend meetings, conduct safety checks, and make recommendations to the assigned Child Protective Service Worker. They conduct home visits with families to monitor child safety and well-being as part of safety analysis and planning, as well as walk-through safety assessments of prospective kinship/relative provider homes to initiate the home study process. The position may require the use of a personal vehicle for extensive travel and includes mandatory overtime as an essential function.

Responsibilities

• Review records, including medical, educational, and service provider documentation.
• Attend meetings and conduct safety checks.
• Make recommendations to the Child Protective Service Worker assigned to the case.
• Conduct home visits with families to monitor child safety and well-being.
• Perform walk-through safety assessments of prospective kinship/relative provider homes.
• Submit documentation to initiate the home study process.
• Use a personal vehicle for extensive travel as required.
• Perform related work as required, including mandatory overtime.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time work experience (one (1) year for internal applicants as a Social Service Case Aide).
• Valid driver’s license.

Additional education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.
