Social Services Aide
Duties
The primary duties of this position include:
- Transportation of parents and children
- Support services to family services specialists
- Provision of services in the homes of families receiving intervention services
Working Conditions
This position works in various settings including departmental offices, client homes, and courtrooms. It involves encountering high-level stress, emotional situations, strong differences of opinion, and exposure to physical danger and contagious diseases. The position also requires lifting up to 30 pounds safely and working a flexible schedule that may include evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and overnight travel. Field travel may be required.

- Knowledge of childcare practices in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment

- Computerized data and technology systems
- Clear and concise documentation, reports, and correspondence
- Active listening, eliciting needed information, and communicating information
- Organizing time and resources to complete assignments and meet schedules and deadlines
- Operating a motor vehicle to transport children and family members
- Making appropriate and timely decisions in stressful situations
