About the role

At the Carmen B. Pingree Autism Center of Learning, Social Service Workers support children with autism and their families through compassionate, relationship-centered care focused on safety, growth, and long-term success. This role combines therapeutic support, skill-building, behavior management, and collaboration to help children build coping, communication, social, and daily living skills in a structured and supportive environment. Social Service Workers work closely with interdisciplinary teams and families to ensure consistent care and meaningful progress for every child.

Responsibilities

  • Provides therapeutic behavior management as prescribed by care plan
  • Assists therapist as needed to develop and review safety/crisis plans and care plans
  • Coordinates services among internal/external agencies and internal/external providers
  • Follows care plan to monitor progress, teach skills, address behavioral concerns, and bill accordingly
  • Ensures continuity of care
  • Meets required productivity standards and other organizational expectations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field
  • Internship experience as required for SSW license
  • SSW licensure in state of practice
  • CPR certification (post hire as needed)

Pay

Range starts at $23/hour (pay is calculated based on years of licensed working experience). Salary range: $23.00-$25.88/hour.

Schedule

Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm
