About the Role

The Social Services Director (SSD) will oversee the Social Services Department, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, guidelines, and regulations. They will assist residents and their families in adapting to new situations and plans of care, promoting their highest level of functioning.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Social Services Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
• Assist residents and their families in adjusting to placement, illness, and the plan of care.
• Develop and maintain a care plan with the interdisciplinary team.
• Work with physically and mentally ill, disabled, and emotionally upset elderly individuals.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
• Apply knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, and laws related to long-term care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2-3 years of related field work experience in social services.
• Ability to develop and maintain a care plan with the interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to work with physically and mentally ill, disabled, and emotionally upset elderly individuals.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
• Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, and laws related to long-term care.

Qualifications

• Nice to have: Experience in a skilled nursing environment, supervisory experience, ability to think strategically, and exercise discretion and independent judgment.
