What We Look For In a Social Networking Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, TikTok, and YouTube, content strategy, profile optimization, privacy settings, digital etiquette, personal branding, and social media safety.
• Ability to explain platform algorithms, engagement strategies, and online reputation management while preparing students for professional networking, personal branding, and social media literacy.
• Conceptual Teaching & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching social media profile creation, content strategy, and online safety practices. Guides students through optimizing LinkedIn profiles for professional networking, creating engaging content, managing privacy settings across platforms, building a professional online presence, and understanding platform-specific best practices. Emphasizes digital citizenship and connects social networking to job searching, business marketing, and community engagement.
• Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with social media literacy curricula and common challenges such as privacy management, distinguishing professional from personal content, and understanding platform algorithms. Adapts instruction using platform walkthroughs, profile optimization exercises, and content creation practice to support students, professionals, and adults from social media beginners through intermediate users building effective and safe social media presence.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
