About the role
We're seeking a Social Media Intern who can help us create high-impact, authentic content across various platforms. This role involves creating engaging content, on-site content capture, short-form video production, community engagement, and trend tracking.
Responsibilities
- Create with Purpose: Develop and post engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X.
- On-Site Content Capture: Head out to our markets and community events to capture the photos and videos that bring our mission to life.
- Short-Form Video: Lead the way on Reels and TikToks—from filming and editing to choosing the right audio.
- Collaborate: Partner with our graphic designer to ensure our social feed is cohesive, professional, and visually compelling.
- Community Engagement: Manage the conversation. You'll be the voice of MOFC in the comments, building connections with our supporters.
- Trend & Performance Tracking: Stay on top of what's trending in the nonprofit space and use analytics to see what resonates with our audience.
Requirements
- A Strategic Creator: Currently studying Marketing, Communications, PR, or a related field and understanding how to build a brand voice.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with CapCut and Adobe Creative Suite and knowing your way around native platform editors.
- An Impactful Writer: Can write a compelling caption that inspires action, whether it's for a donor on LinkedIn or a volunteer on IG.
- Reliable & Proactive: Can manage your own deadlines and isn't afraid to take the initiative on a new content idea.
- Portfolio-Ready: Has examples of social media work or video content you've produced.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a relevant field of study.
- Experience with social media platforms and video editing software.
- Strong writing skills and ability to craft compelling captions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Portfolio of previous social media or video content creation.
Skills
- Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, X).
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and native platform editors.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and take initiative.
- Portfolio of previous social media or video content creation.

Schedule
The internship follows the flow of the year, offering flexibility around your classes:
- Summer (May-July): 28 hrs/week (Our peak season!)
- Fall (Aug-Dec): 20 hrs/week
- Winter (Jan): 10 hrs/week
- Spring (Feb-Apr): 20 hrs/week
