Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies, including annual social media plans, that support organizational goals and elevate the Carilion brand.
- Develop platform-specific strategies and oversee Carilion's presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and emerging social media channels.
- Create, edit, and publish engaging social media content, including copy, graphics, photography, and video.
- Lead organic and paid social media campaigns from planning through execution and optimization.
- Manage social media content calendars and oversee daily publishing, engagement, and community management.
- Collaborate with communications, marketing, and organizational leaders to integrate social media into broader campaigns and initiatives.
- Monitor social media trends, platform updates, competitor activity, and audience behavior to identify opportunities and recommend strategic improvements.
- Track, analyze, and report social media performance, adjusting strategies based on audience engagement, campaign results, and organizational objectives.
- Monitor brand sentiment and identify emerging issues, opportunities, and reputational trends.
- Provide guidance and training to team members and internal stakeholders on social media best practices, content creation, community engagement, and platform updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Four or more years of professional experience in social media, communications, marketing, journalism, or digital content strategy.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing social media strategies for an organization or brand.
- Strong photography, videography, and photo/video editing skills, with a portfolio of professional work.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling abilities across multiple social media platforms.
- Experience managing paid and organic social media campaigns.
- Experience using social media management, monitoring, and analytics tools.
- Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
