About the role

OpenWhispr is an a16z Speedrun-backed startup building an open-source voice product that has already reached 150,000 downloads. Led by founder Gabe Stein, the team is dedicated to giving users a choice in how their voice is processed while building a transparent, community-driven narrative in the AI space. As the Social & Brand Growth Creator, you will be the face and storyteller of OpenWhispr, building a "build in public" presence on TikTok and Instagram Reels, working directly with the founder to transform daily product wins, challenges, and AI insights into a compelling narrative. This solo creator role focuses on driving brand affinity through authentic, short-form video storytelling. You will enjoy total creative ownership to build a brand narrative from zero, following the successful "building in public" model of companies like Kinso and Rho. You’ll join a high‑traction, open‑source project backed by a16z Speedrun with 150,000 existing users and a passionate community, working directly with the founder in an in‑person, fast‑moving environment where your content directly influences company growth and user demand. Location: San Francisco or Chicago, USA.

Responsibilities

• Develop an authentic on-camera persona and content universe that weaves OpenWhispr’s product journey into engaging TikTok and Instagram Reels.
• Script, shoot, and edit high-quality short-form video content weekly, covering everything from product launches and technical bugs to office culture.
• Analyze performance metrics like hooks and retention rates to iterate on content strategy and maximize organic and paid reach.

Requirements

• 1-5 years of experience growing a personal or brand account on TikTok or Reels with proven engagement and follower growth.
• Advanced video editing skills in tools like CapCut, Premiere, or Final Cut and a deep "native" understanding of social trends.
• Charismatic on camera with the "taste" required to hook a wide audience while maintaining an elevated brand aesthetic.
