About the role

Operators at the 113 emergency call center and the single European emergency number 112 (NUE) handle hundreds of daily requests for help, ranging from crime reports to urgent assistance and emotional support. The role demands significant commitment, experience, and the ability to assess diverse situations and emotional states of callers, ensuring appropriate responses during critical events.

In large-scale disasters—such as earthquakes, floods, or other emergencies—personnel from Mobile Units (Reparti Mobili) are deployed alongside local police forces. These units, strategically located across Italy, provide rapid assistance, public order maintenance, and anti-looting measures, operating 24/7 with a reserve of personnel ready for immediate action.
