Position Overview As a SOC Operator, you play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment through centralized monitoring and coordination. This position is responsible for managing security systems, monitoring alarms and communications, dispatching emergency services, and documenting incidents in real time. SOC Operators serve as the command center for security operations—ensuring rapid response, accurate reporting, and continuous situational awareness. If you have experience in call centers, dispatch, customer service, or surveillance monitoring, this role is a great fit. If not, we provide the training needed to launch your career in the security field. Key Responsibilities Alarm Monitoring: Monitor intrusion detection systems and other security technologies to identify and respond to threatsRadio & Communication Monitoring: Listen to and manage law enforcement and security radio traffic while maintaining real-time awarenessIncident Dispatching: Coordinate and dispatch appropriate emergency services or on-site personnelEvent Logging & Reporting: Accurately log incidents, maintain detailed records, and prepare professional reportsVideo Surveillance: Monitor CCTV systems to detect suspicious activity and support investigationsSystem Operations: Perform remote alarm panel programming and system troubleshooting as neededCustomer Support: Provide clear, professional communication to clients, employees, and emergency respondersIncident Analysis: Review events and assist with identifying trends or areas for improvement Minimum Qualifications At least 18 years of ageHigh School Diploma or GED (or willingness to obtain within six months)Legal authorization to work in the United StatesCustomer serviceComputer skillsReliable communication Ability to multitask under stressValid driver license Ability to read, write, and speak EnglishSuccessful completion of pre-employment screening (background check and drug test) Preferred Experience Call center, dispatch, or monitoring experienceSecurity operations center (SOC) experienceFamiliarity with CCTV, alarm systems, or dispatch software Core Competencies Strong attention to detail and situational awarenessAbility to multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environmentExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesProfessionalism and composure during emergenciesTeam-oriented with adaptability to changing conditions Working Conditions Primarily seated in a centralized control room settingExtended periods of computer and system monitoringFast-paced environment requiring quick decision-makingMay include evenings, weekends, holidays, or overtimeRegular interaction with clients, employees, and emergency personnel Why Join Securitas?
