SOC Engineer II

Piper Companies is seeking a SOC Engineer II to support a highly regulated organization within the cybersecurity and government services industry. This is a long-term contract opportunity in a hybrid environment.

About the role

This position requires onsite work 2 days per week in either RTP, NC or Fulton, MD. The role is ideal for a security professional with strong Splunk expertise, AWS experience, and Tier 2 SOC capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to security alerts as part of a Tier 2 SOC
• Create and maintain Splunk dashboards, alerts, and analytics
• Investigate, escalate, and document security incidents
• Support AWS security configuration, logging, and monitoring
• Collaborate with SOC and engineering teams to improve detection

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance
• Tier 2 SOC experience or strong Tier 1 analyst ready to advance
• Strong Splunk dashboarding and analytics skills
• Hands-on AWS configuration experience

Pay

$110,000 - $125,000
