About the role
This position plays a pivotal role in advancing cancer research and improving patient outcomes by facilitating the conduct of oncology clinical trials in compliance with federal regulations, Good Clinical Practice, and institutional policies.
Responsibilities
- Recruitment, consent, and enrollment of study participants
- Coordination of study visits across various clinic settings
- Documentation of procedures and visits, facilitation of sample collection, and data entry
- Collaboration with research teams to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of ICH GCP, federal regulations, and clinical protocols.
- Strong computer skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with a customer-oriented mindset and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Work environment flexibility to work on-site at UNC Medical Center, UNC Chapel Hill Campus, and satellite clinics, with occasional availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Experience as a study coordinator or in oncology clinical trials, with strong preference for those familiar with Phase I-III clinical research to include investigation drugs and devices, as well as translational trial experience.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, data abstraction, and navigating medical records with high accuracy and attention to detail.
