About the role
The College of New Jersey's Department of Sociology and Anthropology is seeking dynamic adjunct instructors to teach SOC 101: Introduction to Sociology in Fall 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach SOC 101: Introduction to Sociology in Fall 2026 (August 22 to December 12, 2026).
- Develop and deliver engaging lectures and facilitate discussions that promote critical thinking and understanding of sociological concepts.
- Evaluate student learning through various assessment methods and provide feedback to enhance student performance.
- Incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion topics into the course material to ensure a comprehensive understanding of sociological principles.
Requirements
- A M.A. degree in Sociology and prior college-level teaching experience with introductory courses in Sociology OR a specialization in Sociology and experience teaching college students.
- Ph.D. or ABD preferred.
Qualifications
- Ability to teach in an in-person setting at TCNJ's campus in Ewing, NJ.
- Experience working with diverse student populations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Effective classroom management and facilitation skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of different learners.
- Knowledge of current sociological theories and research.
