Snowmakers

About the role

Gunstock Mountain Resort is seeking Snowmakers to join the team. Snowmakers work around the clock (weather-permitting) on the production of machine-made snow, with a strong focus on snow quality, trail safety, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Seasonal and daily preparation and utilization of snow guns
• Regular visual inspections and repairs to snow guns and hoses as needed
• Set up and relocate guns and hoses in accordance with the resort snowmaking plan

Position is available immediately through mid-January, with additional employment opportunities after the snowmaking season ends.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Required to move snowmaking and grooming parts, equipment, and materials weighing up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs frequently, and up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Must be able to work in variable outdoor winter weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, in high or precarious places, and with frequent exposure to heat, cold, wet, and humid conditions

Schedule

Schedules consist of 12-hour shifts from 7AM–7PM (days) or 7PM–7AM (nights), up to 5 days per week. Shifts may vary due to weather-dependent operations. Priority consideration will be given to candidates whose availability best fits the resort’s needs.
