Snowflake Data Consultant - Higher Education

The Snowflake Contractor will provide ongoing technical support, architectural guidance, and development assistance for the organization’s Snowflake data warehouse environment. This role will help maintain the existing platform, resolve technical issues, promote data management best practices, and support the continued expansion of Snowflake to additional data domains, business teams, and reporting solutions. Higher Education is the focus.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop solutions within Snowflake.
• Troubleshoot Snowflake errors, performance issues, data-loading failures, and access-related problems.
• Recommend corrective actions and preventative measures to reduce recurring issues.
• Design scalable data structures as new data sources and subject areas are added.
• Develop or support Snowflake data feeds used by Tableau.
• Communicate architectural and technical recommendations to both business and technology stakeholders.
• Maintain knowledge of data management, data quality, security, governance, and warehouse development best practices.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience supporting and developing solutions within Snowflake.
• Strong understanding of cloud data warehouse architecture, data modeling, and data integration.
• Strong SQL development and optimization skills.
• 5 years of experience.

Desired Skills

• Experience expanding Snowflake environments to support householding, customer, constituent, or account relationship data.
• Experience integrating Salesforce Marketing Cloud data into Snowflake.
• Experience onboarding new departments, teams, and data sources into an enterprise data warehouse.
• Knowledge of Tableau data sources, extracts, semantic layers, and portal integrations.
• Familiarity with Snowflake cost management, performance optimization, monitoring, and resource governance.
• Experience working within higher education, nonprofit, advancement, marketing, or constituent-data environments.
• Experience documenting data models, architectural decisions, support procedures, and development standards.
• SnowPro Core Certification preferred.

Pay

Hourly Rate: $130 USD - $150 USD
