Snowflake Architect

Role Description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Snowflake Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our data architecture on the Snowflake cloud data platform. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of Snowflake’s advanced capabilities, cloud-based data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that align with our business goals and drive innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement scalable and efficient data solutions using Snowflake.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and pipelines to support business requirements.
• Migrate existing data warehouses and legacy systems to Snowflake.
• Optimize Snowflake workloads for performance and cost efficiency.
• Monitor and tune virtual warehouses, queries, and data storage.
• Design and implement ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from various sources into Snowflake.
• Work with tools like Snowpipe, Apache NiFi, Informatica, or Talend for data integration.
• Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and ensure data security and compliance.
• Establish data governance policies and best practices.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Work with DevOps teams to automate data pipelines and deployments.
• Stay updated with Snowflake's latest features and recommend innovative solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate third-party tools and technologies to enhance the data platform.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and process workflows.

Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data warehousing, or cloud data platforms.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.
• Expertise in Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, storage, and data sharing.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with query optimization.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud storage (e.g., S3, Blob Storage).
• Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Matillion).
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques (star schema, snowflake schema, etc.).
• SnowPro Certifications will be an added value.
