About the Role

GOAT is seeking a fashion enthusiast looking to combine their passion with a full-time career in the startup world. The ideal candidate possesses a solid knowledge of sneakers, apparel, and the consignment industry for brands such as Nike, Jordan, Adidas, New Balance, FOG Essentials, Supreme, BAPE, Denim Tears, and others. As an Authentication Specialist, you will verify the authenticity of sneakers and apparel across major brands, stay updated on industry trends, and ensure each buyer receives the retail experience they expect.

Responsibilities

• Support daily fulfillment and operational processes as needed.
• Receive and arrange inbound inventory according to brand, category, and model.
• Fully adhere to the product verification process, including spotting manufacturer defects, assessing wear, and inspecting product SKU and size.
• Adjust and learn quickly to authenticate new or recently dropped SKUs.
• Enter all relevant data accurately into GOAT Group Admin, including SKU, size, condition, and original packaging.
• Use training notes to verify authenticity beyond core products, focusing on increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Follow training roadmaps, keep detailed training notes, research trends, new products, and upcoming brands.
• Actively communicate in Slack and other channels (e.g., raise issues like fake footwear) and acknowledge communication from others.
• Work in a dynamic warehouse environment with heavy equipment.
• Remain flexible to perform other duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

• Passion for sneakers, fashion, technology, and helping others succeed.
• Knowledge of products, including originals and re-releases from the past 2-5 years, and the resale industry.
• Ability to recognize current trends within the sneaker and fashion industries.
• Highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail.
• A quick learner and self-starter, capable of working independently and handling increasing levels of responsibility.
• Ability to lift and move boxes (up to 35 pounds).
• Fully proficient in reading and communicating in English.
• Willingness and ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays, during peak times.

Schedule

The Authentication Specialist I position is expected to work five days a week with a tentative schedule of 9:00 AM–4:30 PM. This schedule is subject to business needs and may change. It includes all legally required breaks.

Pay

Hiring range: $22–$22 USD per hour, plus benefits (401K, paid time off, dental, medical, vision, disability, and life insurance options). Starting pay is determined based on factors including primary work location, role/level, skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity.
