SMT Operator-2

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a 3rd shift SMT Operator located in Walker, MI. Reporting to the Production Manager, the SMT Operator (Sun-Thurs -11pm- 7am) role involves being responsible for the set-up of SMT components. Adjusts the speed and temperature and makes other adjustments to accommodate varying types and sizes of products.

Responsibilities

• Familiar with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and SMT assembly process.
• Set-up and operate automated SMT assembly equipment including Screen Printer, Glue Dispensing Machine, Pick and Place Machine, and Reflow Oven.
• Properly clean boards.
• Able to perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components.
• Successfully complete solder training course (Flex provided).
• Picks components and prepares kits for manufacturing.
• Able to perform visual inspections of SMT assemblies.
• Able to maintain accurate job tracking records.
• Able to interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability and customer specifications.
• Familiar with and able to use hand tools, screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, etc.
• Maintain a neat appearance about self and work area.
• Practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Train co-workers and assist when problems arise.

Requirements

• High School or GED degree.
• Prior electronics experience preferred.
