About the role
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Manufacturing Specialist to join our dynamic team at Spartronics!
Responsibilities
- Operate SMT line equipment, including solder paste printer, SPI setup, pick-and-place machines, and reflow oven.
- Set up, load reels onto feeders, circuit boards, and materials for SMT line operations.
- Conduct in-process checks using SPI and X-ray equipment to verify solder quality.
- Visually inspect circuit boards for obvious defects and escalate issues as needed.
- Perform changeovers, line setup, and adjustments to maintain production flow.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of SMT workstations and tools.
- Input product-tracking data to ensure accurate, up-to-date records for quality control and inventory management.
- Contribute to process documentation, training, and ongoing improvements that drive operational success.
- Perform other duties or support other areas as needed, based on business requirements or production flow.
Requirements
- Must be U.S. persons within the definition of ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to follow written instructions.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to interpret work instructions, documentation, and safety requirements.
- Familiarity with production documentation and SMT software systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 plus years of SMT experience or relevant experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Experience with SMT equipment, including pick-and-place, reflow oven, SPI, and X-ray.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement activities.
