About the role

This position is responsible for the prompt delivery of appropriate durable medical equipment, supplies, and related services to customers and clients of Sparrow Medical Supply. The role also includes instructing customers on correct product usage, troubleshooting and repairing equipment on-site when possible, and performing on-call services according to established guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate product from warehouse shelf when an order is received, load it into the company delivery truck, and deliver it to the customer.
• Determine priority deliveries.
• Install product for the customer, if appropriate, and instruct the customer and/or caregiver on its use based on written instructions and/or manual.
• Ensure the customer and/or caregiver understands how to use the product by having them demonstrate its use; leave written work instructions with the customer/caregiver, if applicable.
• Maintain a daily log of time and location of deliveries.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance (cleaning and operational checks) on home medical equipment as scheduled.
• Act as a liaison between the company and the customer, the customer’s family, and caregivers.
• Assist in cleaning and disinfecting equipment and delivery vehicles.
• Maintain the warehouse by cleaning equipment, restocking shelves, and transfilling oxygen tanks, as required.
• Enter all applicable patient information into the TIMS system, as required.
• Educate customers on the Patient/Client Bill of Rights and Responsibilities of the Patient/Client; ensure customers are advised of any payment due, if applicable.
• Adhere to Corporate Compliance Policies, including current Medicare guidelines.
• Participate in an on-call rotation schedule.

Requirements

• Current Michigan driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Michigan Chauffeur’s driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Previous experience at a Home Medical Equipment company preferred.
• Ability to be trained on the use of an oxygen trans filler and oxygen analyzer.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated people-sensitive characteristics with a genuine desire to help others.
