Job Summary

The Phlebotomist under general supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and Lab Manager performs laboratory procedures safely. Work assignments are adjusted based on laboratory test workload. The position may be up to 40 hours per week, subject to Lab Manager's assignment. Responsibilities include assisting with personnel orientation, collecting and documenting patient specimens, delivering them to the correct lab department, and accurately entering patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system. Attendance at mandatory education sessions is required annually.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory procedures safely
• Adjust work assignments based on laboratory test workload

Requirements

• Professional, non-defensive communication with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors
• Attendance at mandatory education sessions annually

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of phlebotomy training program
• Current certification as a Phlebotomist
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills
