SMRMC Full Time 1600-Registered Nurse/Inpatien-6231 Emergency Department

About the role

Under general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility.

Responsibilities

• Function independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry floors, with assignments made based on current staffing needs
• Document total care given, review and maintain patient chart per policy, and assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system
• Collaborate with the CNO, ACNO, Nurse Manager, physicians, administrators/assistants, peers, and staff
• Assist as directed in problem solving by promoting teamwork between staff, physicians, home health, hospital-owned outpatient clinics, and all other ancillary departments
• Work and relate in a professional, non-defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors

Requirements

• Rotate between weekends and holidays according to the needs of the facility, as determined by the Nurse Manager
• Function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the department and organization
• Pass a pharmacology test for this position
• Attend yearly mandatory education requirements (including assigned Healthstream education), which is nonnegotiable and the responsibility of the employee to arrange and attend
• Maintain all certifications and licensure requirements on time
