SMRMC Full Time 1600-Registered Nurse/Inpatien-6120 ICU

About the role

Under general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and the Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to safely coordinate total patient care and education for patients as they are admitted and discharged from the facility. The RN is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations, and to work independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical‑surgical, and telemetry units, with assignments based on current staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total patient care and education for admitted and discharged patients.
• Document all care given, review and maintain patient charts per policy.
• Assist with accurate and timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
• Collaborate frequently with the CNO, ACNO, Nurse Manager, and staff; collaborate with physicians, administrators/assistants and peers.
• Assist in problem‑solving by promoting teamwork between staff, physicians, home health, hospital‑owned outpatient clinics, and ancillary departments.
• Maintain all certifications and licensure requirements on time.
• Attend yearly mandatory education (Healthstream) sessions as arranged by the employee.
• Pass a pharmacology test for the position.
• Work in a professional, non‑defensive manner with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Rotate between weekends and holidays as determined by the Nurse Manager based on facility needs.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently in ICU, CVSU, ED, medical‑surgical, and telemetry floors.
• Must pass a pharmacology test.
• Must attend yearly mandatory education and maintain all certifications/licensure.
• Must be able to work and relate professionally with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
• Must be willing to rotate weekends and holidays according to staffing needs.

Schedule

• Rotating weekend and holiday shifts as assigned by the Nurse Manager based on facility staffing needs.
