Smart Contract Engineer

About the role
As a key member of the team, you will design, develop, test, maintain, and optimize smart contracts while ensuring software security through defensive development practices and the Principle of Least Privilege, particularly in blockchain contexts. You will collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and end users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications, as well as establish best practices, conventions, and development tools for the team.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and optimize all smart contracts.
- Research and evaluate relevant technologies; develop prototype solutions.
- Gather functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications, interfacing with project managers, business analysts, and end users.
- Ensure software security by adopting a defensive approach to development (both happy and unhappy paths) and adhering to the Principle of Least Privilege, especially in blockchain environments.
- Document developed software with appropriate developer docs, architecture diagrams, and user guides.
- Share knowledge with junior developers and help onboard newcomers.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues, improve current products, and develop new ones.
- Follow standard DevOps practices and SDLC principles.
- Help establish best practices, conventions, and selection of development tools.
- Ensure adequate code reviews are conducted and technical standards are upheld.
- Work with Project Managers and stakeholders on goals, planning, and delivery roadmaps.
Requirements
- Holds a university degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent technical skills and familiarity with a wide array of technologies.
- Strong exposure to web3 and modern technologies, including DevOps.
- Strong grasp of modern design patterns and architectures.
- Experience working with offshore, remote, and onsite teams.

Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $135,000 - $225,000, depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status, market conditions, and business needs.
