Small Parts Crane Operator - Multiple Shifts

Essential Functions

• Follows all safety protocols and procedures in a safety-sensitive environment
• Conducts pre-lift crane inspections
• Performs monthly safety contact card audits
• P Practices good daily housekeeping
• Uses proper lifting techniques ensuring safe movement of raw materials and pole sections
• Prepares for lifts by identifying and marking the center of gravity (COG)
• Operates overhead double-hoist, single-hoist cranes to lift, transport, and position pole sections to assembly stands or jigs as needed
• Reviews and interprets product data sheets for part numbers and assembly requirements
• Determines appropriate location for processed parts (e.g., west side rack, middle seamer, or west bay transfer rack)
• Uses basic hand tools and tape measures to ensure accuracy
• Records data accurately for quality tracking and reporting
• Performs other tasks as assigned by management

• Ability to prioritize work in order to complete deadlines
• Ability to work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time result without errors
• Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • More than one year of general labor experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in working with steel or in a similar manufacturing environment
  • Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Working Environment And Physical Efforts

• Work is typically performed in a manufacturing plant environment
• Relatively constant exposure to somewhat disagreeable work conditions such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, and cold as well as noise levels above 80 decibels
• Work conditions vary throughout the week depending on the area of the plant assigned to work in
• Visits to both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year
• Many of the tasks are physical and the associate has to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. although the most frequent amount of weight lifted is 20 lbs.
• The associate is regularly required to reach with hands and arms
• The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, as well as balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
