Small Caps - Carpenter Helper

Responsibilities

• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and take precautions to eliminate them.
• Assist in measuring, marking, and cutting wooden/metallic materials to required specifications.
• Assist in the construction, reinforcement, and dismantling of pre-constructed concrete forms.
• Assist in building and constructing wooden forms.
• Assist on miscellaneous construction projects such as building decks, steps, bulletin boards, and additional wooden structures.
• Clean up/housekeeping of work areas.

Physical Requirements

• Adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, and lifting.
• Communicate through talking and hearing.
• Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull: objects, materials, controls, and tools.
• Pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
• Work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off of platforms/scaffolding using appropriate fall protection requirements.
• Work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Wear PPE including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/spoggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and leather steel-toed work boots.

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime as needed.
• Must be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Must follow all company and site rules and regulations.
• Must have required tools.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Current Zachry/JV employee.
• Zachry/JV ROF’d employee.
• Formal/Technical education.
• Experience working with carpentry, concrete, and rebar.
