About the role

The Small Business Relationship Manager NMLS is responsible for delivering excellent customer service in alignment with U.S. Bank Core Values while providing comprehensive financial solutions to complex small business clients.

Responsibilities

  • Possess expert-level consultative selling, financial analysis, and relationship management skills.
  • Deliver sophisticated client solutions with advanced business acumen, underwriting expertise, and product knowledge.
  • Understand banking operations, sales, new business development, customer service and relations, and community relations.
  • Comply with applicable lending policies, credit structures, products, services, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage portfolio performance and credit quality by monitoring market trends, identifying risk indicators, and applying sound underwriting judgment.
  • Partner with internal and external teams to support timely reporting, responsive portfolio management, and effective client outcomes.
  • Address client concerns and coordinate across business lines, engaging additional specialists as needed to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Build relationships in the community, engage with local organizations, and identify business development opportunities that increase visibility and support community impact.

Requirements

  • Typically a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and three to four years of experience in relationship banking.
  • NMLS registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z, including ongoing compliance with all legal and regulatory registration requirements.
  • Compliance with U.S. Bank Code of Ethics and Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security, suspicious activity reporting requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Participation in required corporate and business line training in these areas, following account opening procedures, and understanding internal suspicious activity referral requirements and processes as required for the position.

Qualifications

Typically a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and three to four years of experience in relationship banking.

Skills

Expert-level consultative selling, financial analysis, and relationship management skills.

Advanced business acumen, underwriting expertise, and product knowledge to deliver sophisticated client solutions.

Strong understanding of banking operations, sales, new business development, customer service and relations, and community relations.

Professionalism and strong working knowledge of applicable lending policies, credit structures, products, services, and regulatory requirements.

Pay

$80,280.00 - 98,120.00

Schedule

Outside prospecting and sales activities in assigned territory 50-70% of the time.
