Responsibilities
- Review and decide small business loan applications, especially for high-dollar and complex loans.
- Aid peers and those less experienced in the loan decision process, offering expertise on financial analysis and loan structuring.
- Be accountable for risk by openly sharing ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and adhering to policies and procedures.
- Ensure actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience while operating within the Bank's risk appetite.
- Spread financial statements based on information in the loan package.
- Provide loan decisions and/or credit recommendations based on a thorough review of all underwriting criteria, including loan structure, collateral, interest rate, and fees.
- Perform global cash flow and balance sheet analysis for small-business healthcare loans up to $2 million.
- Independently evaluate a borrower's financial condition and future outlook, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the sales team to develop loan structures that meet customer needs and align with the organization's risk appetite.
- Assist and mentor fellow team members in portfolio monitoring.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements and software development.
- Mentor credit analysts to enhance their risk management skills and knowledge.
- Communicate loan decisions effectively to loan originators.
- Review and approve all necessary due diligence items.
- Negotiate terms and conditions of loans with loan originators.
Requirements
- College degree in accounting, finance, or economics is preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in underwriting, portfolio monitoring, or similar business loan analysis.
- Basic knowledge of commercial lending and credit standards, policies, procedures, and products.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Access, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with the Bank's internal applications is helpful.
- Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Must be able to identify and propose solutions for process improvements and software development.
- Must be able to mentor and train credit analysts to improve their risk management skills and knowledge.

Total Base Pay Range: $71,100.00 - $145,900.00 USD Annually
