Slurry Truck Equipment Operator

Duties

• Operate slurry truck systems, including the pugmill and rear spreader box, to control material mixing and application
• Apply asphalt slurry at specified widths, depths, and coverage rates to meet project specifications
• Maintain slurry mix consistency and adjust material flow, speed, and application settings as needed
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of slurry truck and related equipment
• Clean slurry truck tanks, lines, hoses, and spreader box after each job or shift
• Conduct routine lubrication and minor maintenance; report mechanical issues or needed repairs
• Coordinate with roadway crew members, flaggers, and supervisors during slurry operations
• Assist with manual labor and setup when equipment is not in operation, as required
• Follow all safety procedures, traffic control plans, and DOT/OSHA regulations while working in live traffic areas
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around hot materials and moving equipment

Qualifications

• Must have good communications skills both written and verbal to interact with internal and external drivers and customers
• Must possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing organizational skills and communications skills
• Strong sense of responsibility regarding timely and accurate completion of work, and a strong commitment to company goals
• Must be capable of functioning under fast-paced, stressful working conditions
• Prior pavement preservation experience is helpful
• Valid Class A driver's license in good standing
