Slots Sr Gaming Technician

About the role

Handles floor repair and preventative maintenance of all Electronic Gaming Devices (EGDs), including cleaning, overhauls, and compliance with gaming regulations. Assists in the initial setup, breakdown, relocation, and verification of EGDs, as well as manual jackpot verification when systems are down.

Responsibilities

• Perform immediate, periodic, and overhaul maintenance on EGDs, equipment, hardware, and peripheral attachments.
• Identify and isolate electronic faults at the board level.
• Research and diagnose EGD malfunctions.
• Perform repairs and preventative maintenance of gaming systems (progressive and accounting systems).
• Assist in the setup and checkout of new EGDs and relocation of existing units.
• Assist Slot Floor personnel in verifying jackpots manually when systems are down.
• Ensure EGD integrity during jackpots and other operational requests from management.
• Maintain current knowledge of local, state, federal, and tribal gaming laws and regulations, as well as property internal controls and policies.
• Report disputes and unusual guest activities to the shift manager.
• Promote positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
• Instruct Gaming Technicians and Apprentice Gaming Technicians on technical aspects of gaming device repair.
• Assist floor personnel with guest service and dispute resolution as needed.
• Demonstrate proficiency in using test metering devices and EGD troubleshooting equipment.
• Perform repairs on electrical/electronic faults up to the printed circuit board level.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of slot technical experience required.
• Electronics degree preferred.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Skills

• Knowledge of moving mechanical parts, EGDs, electronics, and electrical functions.
• Proficiency in using test metering devices and EGD troubleshooting equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electronic faults at the board level.
• Strong understanding of gaming regulations and internal controls.
