Slot Floorperson/Sportsbook Writer

About the role

To assist customers with all aspects of slots, including machine problems, payment of jackpots, fills, and writing Race and Sports tickets while providing Golden Nugget customers with racing and sporting information.

Responsibilities

• Assists with equipment problems such as jams and malfunctions.
• Identifies jackpots and fills, generating documents through an online system; pays customers accordingly.
• Interacts with customers in all areas, providing information and explanations.
• Maintains assigned area in a neat and orderly fashion, including delivering and stocking supplies, removing glasses, and rearranging chairs.
• Circulates assigned area continuously to ensure customers are being serviced.
• Checks machine doors on an ongoing basis.
• Signs on to ticket writing stations and writes and cashes both Race and Sports tickets for customers.
• Keeps up with scores and posts them on wallboards as they come over the wire service.
• Assists customers and answers any questions they may have.
• Stocks betting stations with tickets.
• Keeps printer and ticket ribbon and paper in good working condition.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested.

Requirements

• Ability to work well with the public.
• Cash handling experience.
• Good public relations skills.
• Basic computer knowledge helpful.
• Basic knowledge of IRS and gaming regulations helpful.
• Minimum age requirement is 21.
