Slot Attendant

About the role

Monitors currency transactions and completes appropriate logs and reports pursuant to Title 31. Repairs minor machine malfunctions. Observes slot play for illegal machine tampering or abuse. Provides customer service and maintains inventory, check-in sheets, and reconciliation of assigned bank during operation. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Approves slot payouts within limits per submitted System of Internal Controls.
• Complies with regulatory agencies and performs minor machine repairs on all slot machines on property.
• Continuously walks assigned areas to assist guests who need service.
• Provides courteous and prompt change, jackpot, and minor machine repair service.
• Responds to slot machines in a timely manner to resolve guest problems.
• Notifies Slot Shift Supervisor of any issues or suspicious activity.
• Maintains working knowledge of all local jurisdictional gaming laws (federal, state, and local) and company internal controls.
• Participates in slot department special projects in a team environment upon request.
• Observes slot play for illegal machine tampering or abuse.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all games to perform minor repairs and explain game play to guests.
• Must possess knowledge of player tracking system.
• Delivers excellent customer service and keeps the casino floor clean of cups and chairs pushed in.
• Communicates special promotions to guests.
• Exercises discretion in identifying situations requiring management attention.
• Handles and secures keys within departmental guidelines.
• Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a slot department preferred, but willing to train if other qualifications are met.
• Previous cash handling experience preferred.
• Must possess basic math skills to make change with coin and currency.
• Ability to walk the casino floor for up to 10 hours.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Upbeat personality for interactions with guests and team members.
• Must know and understand Title 31 procedures.
• High School diploma or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a Gaming license through the state of Maine.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs while walking the casino floor.
• Requires long periods of walking, recurring climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Work may require above-average agility and dexterity.
• Possible exposure to prolonged loud noise.
