Slitter Operator - Weekend Shift - Work 36 hours, Paid for 40

Set up and operate slitting machines to cut film to specified widths, lengths, and diameters while meeting or exceeding standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Schedule

• Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM
• $1 per hour shift differential for weekend day shift

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and warehouse
• Maintain a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions and incidents while upholding quality standards
• Follow computer procedures to handle damaged material and quarantine material in accordance with company quality standards
• Install and align shear or razor blades for slitting feedstock materials
• Start machine, adjust blade and controls using wrenches, rulers, gauges, templates, or other tools, and monitor operation
• Test and adjust settings to produce materials according to specification
• Select, clean, and install spacers, lay-on bars, sleeves, and blades to set up the machine in conformance with specifications
• Read production schedule, customer specifications, and other documents to determine setup or adjustment of equipment
• Thread feedstock from reel through slitter and secure on rewinder
• Observe machine operation and examine rolls for flatness, holes, surface, and other defects
• Measure dimensions of rolls using tape measure, gauge, template, ruler, and square to ensure conformance to specification
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years of experience preferred
• Ability to work at a fast pace and multitask
• Ability to read production tickets and perform math calculations, including fractions
• Ability to read a tape measure, including micrometers
• Computer literate
• Dedicated to continuous improvement
• Able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, or stand for extended periods of time
