Responsibilities
- Checking work orders, properly selecting processed material, checking for weight, alloy, size, and quality.
- Operate a power-driven slitter to slit coils into one or more strands.
- Inspect material during processing to ensure proper quality is maintained.
- Set up and adjust slitter knives and stripper rings.
- Run material according to the specifications of the work order.
- Check slit strands - free of burrs, scratches, coil set, and within camber specifications.
- Properly identify all slit material and complete all documentation, in the ERP system.
- Maintain the work area in a clean and neat fashion.
- May require the repair of minor mechanical problems.
- Group completed coils together by work order in the designated area.
- Math aptitude/setup calculations testing.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass the company mechanical test.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Sufficient ability to maintain records and reports.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
- Working knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Understanding of production procedures.
- Analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g., constant use of protective gear).
