Slitter Exit: 3rd Shift

About the role

As a Machine Operator – Slitter at Zekeman Industries, you will play a key role in setting up and operating robotic and automated equipment to form or cut steel to precise specifications. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, mechanically skilled, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Shift

Shift: 7 PM to 5:30 AM

Pay

Pay: $25 per hour plus Production Incentive Bonus

What You’ll Do

• Observe all safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment efficiently and effectively.
• Set up and calibrate equipment to meet production requirements.
• Inspect materials for quality issues before, during, and after running production.
• Record and report deficiencies in quality to supervisors or the quality department.
• Maintain equipment tooling and necessary tools to ensure job completion.
• Diagnose equipment and quality problems while minimizing scrap and delays.
• Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Complete production, changeover, and scrap reports accurately and on time.
• Absorb other duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are

• Experience: Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read, write, and maintain production records; proficiency with measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers; capable of operating forklifts, cranes, and other required equipment.
• Soft Skills: Detail-oriented, ability to work independently, strong problem-solving skills.
• Additional Qualifications: Regular, full-time, predictable attendance; commitment to lead and promote safe work practices per regulatory and company policy.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, bend, stoop, climb, push, and pull.
• Ability to stand for 10–12 hours and maintain good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
• Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment.
• Use of abdominal and lower back muscles for support over extended periods without fatigue.
• Ability to perform other duties as necessary for the role.
