Slitter Assistant (2nd Shift)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Pack roll stock from the Slitting and Press Departments
• Assist Slitter Operators in secondary slitting operations with a focus on increasing production efficiency on the assigned shift
• Support Slitter Operators by moving and wrapping pallets, staging rolls to be slit, and keeping the department supplied with materials
• Cut cores, empty trash and trim bins, reclaim rolls on rewinder equipment, and pack finished rolls with proper labels, boxes, and pallets
• Collect samples for Quality Assurance and Customer Service as requested on work orders
• Move finished goods to the wrapping staging area
• Review scheduling lists and prepare required materials to execute production orders
• Keep recyclables, cores, cardboard, and materials organized and properly segregated
• Operate slitter equipment and fill in during PTO coverage or absences as needed

Qualifications

• Excellent attendance history
• Proven success in a fast-paced environment
• Works well with multiple teams and solves problems effectively
• Takes pride in work and has strong analytical and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Can occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Can frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Can occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Can regularly use hands and fingers to handle tools, materials, and controls
• 6 to 12 months of work experience preferred
• Good reading and math skills
• Understand and interpret work orders tied to customer specifications
• Forklift or lift truck experience is a plus
