Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation, setup, and distribution of home sleep testing (HST) equipment
  • Absorb and perform Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLTs), including patient preparation, monitoring, and documentation, under the supervision of a credentialed sleep technologist and/or physician
  • Provide patient education on proper use of HST devices to ensure understanding and compliance
  • Receive, download, and process HST data for physician interpretation
  • Review study data for completeness and escalate concerns as appropriate
  • Perform accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Absorb and prepare CPAP/APAP device downloads and reports for provider review
  • Absorb and perform mask fittings and patient education related to PAP therapy as directed
  • Maintain inventory, including cleaning, disinfection, and proper storage of equipment in accordance with infection control standards
  • Absorb and coordinate troubleshooting equipment issues and replacements as needed
  • Communicate effectively with providers, medical assistants, and team members to support patient care workflows
  • Absorb and assist with administrative and clinical tasks to support efficient lab operations (messages, follow-ups, coordination)
  • Absorb and adhere to HIPAA requirements, facility policies, and AASM accreditation standards
  • Absorb and participate in required education, competency validation, and ongoing training
  • Absorb and complete clinical hours, logs, and documentation required for registry eligibility

Qualifications

  • Completion of an A-STEP program designated by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) or another Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)-recognized pathway required to obtain RPSGT eligibility
  • Ability to work any day shift, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn sleep lab software systems
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Must obtain the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential within 12 months after hire as a condition of continued employment. Failure to obtain the RPSGT credential within 12 months after hire will result in termination of employment.

Physical Demands
