Sleep Technician Trainee Tech I

This is a full-time trainee position in Sleep Disorders, with an initial training period followed by a schedule of 7pm–8am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The incumbent must be able to work at five different locations.
A sleep technician trainee develops competency in and performs basic sleep testing procedures and interventions under the direct supervision of a registered sleep technologist. Upon successful completion of the training period, the incumbent will be eligible for advancement to a Tech II/experienced sleep technician position.
Responsibilities
- Develop skills in collecting, analyzing, and integrating patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs.
- Develop skills in determining final testing parameters and procedures in conjunction with lab policy and the ordering provider’s request.
- Provide age-specific patient education.
- Develop skills for performing various polysomnographic testing procedures.
- Learn to implement appropriate interventions, including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as positive airway pressure and oxygen administration.
- Develop skills in polysomnographic data analysis.
- Achieve sleep-specific educational benchmarks as determined by lab management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required).
- 0–1 years of customer service experience (Preferred).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification (Preferred).
