About the role
The Polysomnographic Technician assists in conducting sleep studies and related procedures under the supervision of a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or physician. This role focuses on patient preparation, equipment setup, and basic monitoring to ensure accurate data collection and patient safety.
Responsibilities
- Assists in conducting sleep studies and related procedures under supervision.
- Prepares patients for sleep studies and related procedures.
- Sets up and operates polysomnography equipment.
- Maintains patient records and ensures data accuracy.
- Monitors patients during sleep studies to ensure their safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
Qualifications
- Preferred collegiate coursework in health sciences.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Technical knowledge and acquired competencies to work with intermittent supervision following completion of PSG Technician training checklist requirements.
