About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior GCP Data Architect to lead the design and modernization of enterprise-scale data platforms. This role will define architecture strategy, establish scalable data solutions, and partner with engineering and business teams to enable advanced analytics, AI/ML, and cloud transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), modern data architectures, and large-scale data modernization programs.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead end-to-end cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Assess existing data ecosystems and develop modernization roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
  • Design scalable data platforms, integration patterns, and data models that support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives.
  • Establish architecture standards, governance practices, and reusable design patterns for engineering teams.
  • Lead the design of batch, streaming, and real-time data processing solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product leaders, architects, and engineers to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for strategic data initiatives.
  • Drive adoption of modern architecture approaches including Data Mesh, Data Products, and event-driven architectures.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Enterprise Data Platform Design.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing large-scale cloud data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong expertise in:
    • BigQuery
    • Dataflow
    • Dataproc
    • Pub/Sub
    • Cloud Storage
    • Composer (Airflow)
  • Experience with modern data processing frameworks including Spark and Kafka.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, data integration, data quality, and data governance.
  • Experience designing highly scalable, fault-tolerant, and cloud-native data solutions.
  • Expertise with modern data architectures including data lakes, lakehouses, and enterprise data warehouses.
  • Experience with batch, streaming, and Change Data Capture (CDC) data pipelines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical strategy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Terraform, and cloud-native orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of Data Mesh and Data Product operating models.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML and advanced analytics platforms.
  • Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification.
  • Consulting or enterprise transformation experience leading cloud modernization initiatives.

Pay

For this position, the base salary pay range is $105–$130/hour. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
