Skilled Tradesman - Drywaller

BluSky Restoration is seeking a full-time Drywaller/Painter to provide painting and drywall support on residential and commercial reconstruction and restoration projects. This role embraces BluSky's Credo and requires high-level communication throughout the reconstruction process. Reliable transportation and tools are required.

About the role

This position reports directly to the Project Manager and involves drywalling, surface preparation, painting, and other assigned duties. Availability for on-call emergency response is required.

Responsibilities

• Paints surface areas according to instructions using various tools.
• Caulks, putties, cements, and plasters holes and cracks as needed.
• Prepares walls and surfaces for painting.
• Assists in keeping worksites clean and safe.
• Provides superior customer service and protects job sites using protective coverings.
• Communicates clearly with Project Managers and Superintendents about project status and changes.
• Maintains proper project documentation.
• Responds to emergency situations when required.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in painting for restoration or construction (preferred).
• 2 years of drywall/painting experience preferred.
• Self-motivated with the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to execute required paperwork.
• Identifies hazards in assigned work areas and works safely.
• Meets mental and physical demands of the job.
• Ability to work professionally with others.
• Maintains a valid and current driver’s license.
• Successfully passes a national criminal background check and motor vehicle report.
• Successfully passes a pre-employment drug test.
• High school diploma or GED; at least one year of construction experience or related field preferred.

Skills

• Reliable truck and tools to complete work at a high skill level.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The work environment is typically quiet. The role involves:

• Regularly lifting and/or moving 25-50 pounds.
• Standing, walking, using hands and fingers to handle materials, and talking/hearing.
• Stooping, kneeling, or crouching; occasional sitting.

Pay

$21/hr - $36/hr depending on experience.
