About the role
Plumber Pipefitters are responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing and piping systems in various industrial and commercial settings. They are also expected to adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and piping systems.
- Follow safety guidelines and adhere to industry standards.
- Work on an assigned schedule, change shifts periodically, work more than 8 hours per day, and/or work overtime.
- Maintain good attendance and work effectively in a team environment.
- Learn and remember tasks after instruction, training, and familiarization.
- Understand and follow both oral and written instructions.
- Perceive differences in details and prints related to trade.
- Manipulate tools typical of the trade and effectively maneuver about vehicles, equipment, assembly lines or stations, and facility.
Requirements
- Completion of a bona fide apprenticeship, or 8 years of previous experience, or a combination of previous work experience and training equivalent to a bona fide apprenticeship program in the trade.
- Knowledge and work experience in blueprint reading and layout, pneumatic, fluid, and steam systems, fabrication of pipe systems, pipe, mechanical gas arc, and plasma cutting, lifting and rigging, and valve installation and repair.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform tasks of the trade, stand for extended periods, walk unassisted, work at heights, work overhead including on ladders and platforms, and manipulate tools typical of the trade.
- Ability to lift and rig materials as needed.
- Ability to perceive differences in details and prints related to trade.
- Ability to maneuver about vehicles, equipment, assembly lines or stations, and facility.
Skills
- Blueprint reading and layout.
- Pneumatic, fluid, and steam systems.
